DEADLINE is OCT 10TH!
The 41st Annual Havelock Chili Festival will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023, in Walter B. Jones Park, downtown Havelock, NC. Event hours are Saturday 10am until 6pm. We are looking for the best amateur and professional chili cooks to battle it out for the 2023 title(s). Whether you are a seasoned cook or just starting out, the best chili just comes down to taste.
We are now sanctioned by the International Chili Society (ICS). Details of our event can be found at ICS Chili, Inc. (chilicookoff.com)
and at https://chilifestival.org/2023-chili-cook-info.
We will NOT be hosting a Wings Competition this year. The Havelock Chili Festival Committee is choosing to focus on the Chili Competition. It's possible the Friday night wing night will be back in the future if we can recruit more dedicated volunteers. Stay tuned.
Save the Date - we hope to see you all on Saturday, Oct. 21!

The Havelock Chili Festival was created as a means for nonprofit organizations to raise funds and awareness for their causes.
Proceeds from the Havelock Chili Festival benefit nonprofit organizations in our local area.
Since 2019, over $15,500 in funds were distributed to a variety of organizations, schools, and causes,
including $2,000 in scholarships and $2,000 in STEM grants to Havelock elementary and Middle schools.
Havelock is a small town that is proud of its partnership with Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point, the largest Marine Air Station in the world.
The Havelock Chili Festival also cherishes its relationship with the leadership and Marines and sailors of MCAS Cherry Point.
In 1981, the Commanding General of MCAS Cherry Point suggested the creation of a festival that would provide his Marines, Sailors and their families
with an opportunity to connect with the Havelock community. Based on his vision, Havelock's International Chili Society Cook-off concept was born.
Past Havelock Chili Cook-offs have included competitors from all over the great state of North Carolina and visitors from Arkansas, Colorado,
Missouri, New Jersey, South Carolina, Texas, and Virginia.
After a 2-year hiatus, we are eager to once again offer an exciting opportunity for chili cooks and vendors across Eastern North Carolina and far and wide to participate in this annual family-focused, safe event.
The Havelock Chili Festival pledges to continue honoring its legacy by producing memorable family-friendly community events that support local non-profit organizations.
For press or vendor inquiries, please send us a message. Thank you for your interest! We will get back to you as soon as we can.
