The Havelock Chili Festival has made the decision to cancel the 2020 Festival this year due to Covid19. We know that there will be some who are very disappointed with our decision but the committee didn't go into this lightly. We had to think of the volunteers, vendors, cooks, and of course all of the people who love to come out and enjoy the festival. We hope to see you in 2021.

In 1981, the Commanding General at Marine Corp Air Station Cherry Point mentioned the concept of developing a festival that would provide his Marines and their families with an opportunity to connect with their community. Based on his vision, the International Chili Society Cook-off concept was born. Previous Havelock Chili Festivals had competitors compete from New Jersey, Colorado, Texas, Arkansas, Missouri, Virginia, South Carolina and Florida as well as North Carolina.
